Pinterest Highlights Vintage Style, the Color Brown, Ring Stacks in Wedding Trends Report

Brown looks to be huge for weddings this year, with couples gravitating toward rich chocolate tones and earthy shades for decor, flowers, and clothing, according to Pinterest’s wedding trends report for 2025—a trend in keeping with Pantone’s prediction for the color of the year.

Based on wedding-related searches and pins. the annual Pinterest report points to popular styles and movements Gen Z is turning to for their weddings. Pinterest says its users make more than 3.8 billion wedding-related searches and pin 13.4 billion wedding ideas per year.

Notable search terms that show brown’s popularity include chocolate brown weddings, mocha wedding theme, brown wedding decor, brown bridal party, and brown wedding flowers, says Pinterest.

The report also suggests that Gen Z couples prefer intimate weddings over big celebrations, with searches like city hall wedding outfit, courthouse wedding dress ideas, and civil ceremony ideas making big gains this year.

Still, an air of maximalism seems to be making its way to the jewelry category, with an increase in searches for ring stack, unique wedding ring stack, and mixed metal ring stack wedding bands. “Minimalism is taking a backseat to make space for colorful modern aesthetics and hyperpersonal touches,” Pinterest notes in the report.

Vintage jewelry is another trend cited, with searches way up for cushion cut engagement ring, 1950s engagement ring, vintage wedding rings 1920s, and other looks of the past. This yearning for nostalgia extends to wedding attire—statement veils and ’90s-era dresses appear desirable. On its “nostalgic wedding style” board, Pinterest included a photo of a locket pendant—which, while not specifically a search term, is the perfect accessory for honoring generations past, present, and future.

Pinners also appear to be turning to styles we have often dubbed “alternative,” searching for things like brown diamond engagement ring, pink diamond engagement ring, citrine wedding ring, champagne diamond engagement ring, and sapphire engagement ring gold.

In addition, the Pinterest report mentions a trend toward “surreal florals”: calla lilies, dahlias, anthuriums, and paper or hanging flowers. Retailers and designers may want to consider the power of flowers in jewelry form, to appeal to couples’ desires as far as floral color and type.
