Industry veteran Nicky Mehta has joined New York City–based Ashi Diamonds as head of business development.

In his new role, Mehta will help boost the success of Ashi’s independent retail partners.

He has spent over 30 years at Diamond Days, his family’s jewelry business, and will continue to be involved in that company. Mehta is president of the Connecticut guild of the American Gem Society (AGS) and formerly led AGS’ New York/New Jersey chapter.

Mehta holds a Graduate Gemologist diploma from GIA. He did his undergraduate studies at Baylor University and holds a B.S. in business administration from Mercy College.
